Dissociating is an introspective and deeply emotional exploration of my own experience with identity loss and the struggle for self-acceptance. The lyrics paint a picture of feeling disconnected from myself, navigating mental health struggles and seeking professional help while still wrestling with inner turmoil. The repeated theme of suffocation emphasises just how overwhelming these emotions can be, while the closing lines challenge not only how others perceive me but also how I see myself - grappling with a desperate need to reclaim my identity.
