Biography

giuliette price, a singer and songwriter based in Cape Town, has made an indelible mark on the music scene since her move from Johannesburg in 2021. Sharing stages with luminaries like Zoë Modiga, Kujenga, MOONGA K., and Alice Phoebe Lou, giuliette's performances showcase her vocal talent and songwriting skills. Steeped in her jazz training, giuliette's music effortlessly blends rich vocals with intricate rhythms. She embraces various settings, from the radiant atmosphere of festivals to the intimate ambiance of dimly lit cafés, always delivering a performance that is both deeply personal and emotionally resonant.

In January 2024, giuliette released her debut EP, Rather Lie — a live-recorded album that captures the raw energy of her ensemble at the South African College of Music. This project marked a major milestone in her artistic journey, setting the tone for a year filled with career highlights, including (in 2024 alone): - Being selected for the National Youth Jazz Band (June) - A performance of her original project at The Baxter Theatre (July) - The release of her single "Gently" (October) - Graduating with a BMus in Jazz Voice Performance (November) - Sold-out performances at the Journey to Jazz Festival (May) - Playing with the Seek Art Show (April) - Featuring as an artist on Big Little Concepts (February) Now, as 2025 unfolds, giuliette is stepping into an exciting new chapter. Having completed her Honours degree in Jazz Performance, she is currently working on her next project — one that promises to push her artistry even further. While it's still too early to say exactly what this year has in store, one thing is certain: good things are coming. OR giuliette price is a Cape Town–based singer and songwriter whose music is tender and timeless, exploring the beauty of love, lust and heartbreak with jazz melodies, bossa nova rhythms and honest sensitivity. With her debut EP rather lie, sold-out festival shows, and a first prize win at the UNISA jazz vocal competition, she has emerged as one of South Africa's most luminous young voices - unafraid to turn love, loss, and longing into art.
